I tried to include plenty of photos to give you a good idea of how this was constructed. Originally, when it was just a frame & wire, we used it as a Turkey brooder. But then the Turkeys grew up and Lexi needed a place for her little gals & guy, so it made sense to convert it.
It is pushed right up against the house & is very convenient to get to. Works out just fine. Its approximately 7 long and 3 deep. The run next to it is about 10 long and the same depth and ends right at our front porch steps.

Here is a photo from the winter of 09/10 and our modifications for the cold. I put down a couple of feed bags and covered the bottom with straw. I used more feedbags on the end of the coop and stapled them on to close it in. We stuffed straw in most of the corners and all but a small hole to get into their run is closed up with straw as well. They seem to be doing GREAT despite sub freezing temperatures for days in a row. Their waterer tends not to freeze at freezing or just below so I know the coop is keeping it and them draft free and a tad warmer than outside.
This is a FANTASTIC small coop for a small flock of bantams or even 2 or 3 standard size hens.
