Hi, my name is Lexi and I am interested in showing poultry and work with my mom here on our little family farm. I showed my first chickens at the Cocke County Agriculture Fair in the fall of 2008. I entered 2 Buff Orpington Cockerels and they respectively won 1st & 2nd place in their division. No Blue ribbons, but it was a great first show experience. My first place Buff is no longer living here with us on the farm, but my 2nd place cockerel, now affectionately named “Wattles” (photo below) is our full time guard rooster free ranging throughout our yard & property.
 In 2009 I will be entering a variety of fowl in a couple of different areas. Last year we ordered some Silver Laced Wyandotte hens, two of whom I selected to take to show this year, however the wyandottes are not as “show quality” as I needed so we sold them and I only showed 1 buff orpington at the spring poultry show. The Summer poultry show is coming upon us quite fast and I am only begginig to decide what i shall put in this show.
